Wente takes the TTC

Even though Wente's and my views are appaulingly different, the fact is, I know plenty of people who support her views. The question is, how do we deal with Wente's concerns?

Have you heard anything about the way Singapour designs their Subways? It''s real awesome. I was watching a show on the Discovery Channel yesterday and they were talking about how Singapour builds all sorts of stations everywhere that remain dormant until the population density can support the station and then they open the stations up. And they have all their new stations built so that incase of any sort of disaster people can be ushered in there and the stations would essentially work like a bomb shelter. I think I'll have to look into their subways a bit more...

Being a TTC user, I don't mind it that much. Sure one any given day, the subway will stop in the tunnels for 5-10 minute intervals, but over all it's not that bad. And for someone who can't afford/want a car it *is* the better way! (Side note, I think yesterday was the first time I drove anywhere in the last month!)

Long Rant. Sorry. :)
